Autumn marks a new chapter for Youth AI Lab. Following an initial exploration phase, the four labs will now develop their projects further, test them in new contexts and prepare to share them across Europe.
Across the consortium, the coming months will focus on turning local experience into resources that other teams can easily reuse. Activity ideas tested in the field will gradually be supplemented with detailed protocols, teaching materials and lessons learned.
The Youth AI Lab skills tree will support this new phase. It will allow the four labs to highlight the areas of learning they have addressed, choose their next “quests” and connect the pathways followed in the different countries.
Another major initiative begins in September 2026: the creation of a multilingual wiki for educators and facilitators. Due in the first half of 2027, it will bring together the teaching methodology, activities, protocols, mentor-training resources and assessment tools needed to adapt the Youth AI Lab approach to other settings.
On 22 and 23 October 2026, the five partners will meet in Antwerp for a training course on fine-tuning language models, jointly designed and delivered by L.A.B and Perlatecnica. The meeting will strengthen mentors’ technical and ethical foundations and prepare them for the second wave of workshops.
A new series of public-facing content and postcards from the labs will be published at the end of the year. Exchanges between the groups will then continue as they prepare for their European gathering in Rome, scheduled for autumn 2027.
